Blake Henchcliffe, M.D.

Dr. Henchcliffe founded Texas Psychiatric Medicine to provide professional, confidential, and personalized psychiatric care to the Texas Panhandle.

Prior to pursuing medical training, Dr. Henchcliffe lived, studied, and worked in Amarillo for many years. Dr. Henchcliffe earned an undergraduate degree and a Masters in Business Administration from West Texas A&M University.

Dr. Henchcliffe received his medical degree from The University of Texas at Houston, now known as McGovern Medical School. He completed psychiatry residency at Faillace Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School. The eight years that Dr. Henchcliffe spent studying and training in the heart of the world’s largest medical center, the Texas Medical Center, gave him the advantage of exposure to a broad range of mental health conditions. During the course of his training, he learned from thought leaders at MD Anderson, Memorial Hermann, the Harris Health System, Houston Methodist, and the University of Texas Harris County Psychiatric Center which is one of the largest academic psychiatric hospitals in the country. In residency he was appointed Chief Resident and was awarded the prestigious Ann Saunders Award for Clinical Excellence.  His mission is to partner with patients to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to their unique needs and help them reach their fullest potential.

Dr. Henchcliffe has strong ties to the community and a fondness for the people, culture, and even the weather. He is proud to call Amarillo home and establish a practice serving the patients of Amarillo and the surrounding areas. Dr. Henchcliffe is currently accepting adult patients 18 years and older.
